Lara was raised in Ottawa, Ontario. 
 
Obtained her B.Sc. (with Distinction in Biological Sciences) in 1999 from the University of Alberta. 
 
Graduated from the University of Alberta Law School in 2004 and was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 2005. 
 
Lara joined the firm in 2011.
 
In addition to a wide array of insurance defence claims, Lara’s practice has focussed on a diverse range of employment matters (insured and non-insured claims) including wrongful dismissal and human rights complaints.
 
She has represented parties before various administrative tribunals, statutory appeal panels, the Provincial Court and the Court of King’s Bench. She has also acted as Inquiry Counsel and as Counsel for Interested Parties in Public Fatality Inquiries. 
 
She has two adult-aged children and shares her acreage home with her husband, three dogs and several rescue cats.
