Marianne was born and raised in Calgary. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Communications (with distinction) from the University of Calgary in 2012. In 2016, she graduated from the University of Alberta law school and was admitted to the bar in 2017.

Marianne maintains a broad litigation practice focusing on insurance defence, civil matters, and administrative law. She has successfully appeared before all levels of Court in Alberta, including the Court of Appeal. She has experience with judicial reviews and has represented parties before various administrative tribunals and statutory appeal panels. She has conducted several public inquiries, both as Inquiry Counsel and on behalf of interested parties.
